Ouida Faye Morgan Watkins

A celebration of life for Mrs. Ouida Morgan Watkins will be held Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Rickles officiating. Burial will follow at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Mrs. Ouida Watkins, 92, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024, at Brookdale Senior Living Center.

Ouida was a lifelong resident of Meridian. She was the wife of Mr. George Leslie Watkins (Beaver). Ouida loved being “Bebe” to her eight grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren. She had the most joy when caring for and entertaining the little ones. She loved the beach and attending the events of her grandchildren. Ouida loved the holidays spent with family.  She especially loved sharing her amazing sweet potato and strawberry pies.

Ouida is survived by her children, Dawn McCormick (Ned), Kip Watkins (Sherri), and Leigh Fort; her sister, Merle Irby; eight grandchildren, Ned McCormick (Jodi), Jon McCormick, Kip Watkins, Angela Brock (Trey), Carley Watkins, Beau Burns (Hailey), Hayden Burns (Anthony Thomas), and Layne Marcello (Joseph); her great-grandchildren, Zach Watkins, Parker Huff, Kip Watkins III, Molly McCormick, Bo McCormick, Vier McCormick, Sawyer Thomas, Raleigh Thomas, and Jennings Burns; and numerous nieces, and nephews.

Mrs. Watkins was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, George Leslie Watkins, Jr. “Beaver”; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.E. Morgan; her sisters, Jessie Feazell and Jean Riley.
