Memorial services celebrating the life of Mrs. Pam Warren Vance will begin at 12 noon, Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Bro. Kenny Pogue officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Mrs. Vance, 63, of the Martin Community in Collinsville, passed from this world on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Pam worked alongside the late Dr. Frank Tucker, for over 30 years, as a Surgical First Assistant. She never forgot a single colleague or patient she worked with during that time. After retiring from the medical field, she became involved with East MS Crimestoppers, and was appointed as the Executive Director in 2013. In 2019, she was recognized with the MS Crimestoppers Lifetime Service Award. In earlier years, Pam volunteered her time as an active member of Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and was one of the founding members of the Lauderdale County Chapter of MADD.
In her spare time, Pam enjoyed running. She participated in many 5k runs and marathons, as well as volunteering to help at these events when asked. She made countless, lifelong friends within the running community. Pam has always enjoyed craft shows, and eventually started her own small business, called Dip This. She started selling her homemade dip mixes throughout Mississippi, and eventually started receiving orders from around the country. She always put her heart and soul into everything she touched. At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Pam selflessly spent her time sewing hundreds of masks for essential workers in the community for no charge. Throughout her life, she was always the first to step up, and give back.
Mrs. Pam is survived by her husband of over 45 years, Scott Vance; daughter Jenny Pigford (Timothy); and granddaughter Maddie Pigford. Siblings Linda May (Mickey) and Barbara Harry (Billy), brother and sister-in-law Keith and Carol Vance, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Mrs. Vance is preceded in death by her parents F W and Mamie Warren. Father and Mother –in -law John and Sarah Vance.
The family suggest memorials be made to East MS Animal Rescue in lieu of flowers. Donations can be sent to 2440 North Hills St. Suite 105, PMB 107, Meridian, MS 30305.
