A graveside funeral service for Pamela Jane McDonald will be held at 9:30 on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Paul McDonald officiating.

Pamela Jane McDonald, age 67, of Niceville, Florida passed away Saturday, July 6, 2019 at the University of Arkansas Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas.  She had recently been diagnosed with multiple myeloma.

She was born in Keesler Air Force Base Hospital in Biloxi, Mississippi on April 14, 1952 to the late Edd Reed and Dortha “Dot” McDonald.  At age 3, she moved to Yokota Air Force Base in Japan where her father was stationed.  She began school at Eglin Elementary on Eglin Air Force Base in 1958.  In 1961, she moved to Bitburg Air Force Base in Germany and returned to the Eglin area in 1964 where she attended Ruckel Junior and Niceville High School, graduating in 1970.  She was voted most polite by her classmates.  She attended Florida State University, where she earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Library Science.  Beginning in the fall of 1974, she served as the librarian at Bruner Middle School in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, where she was still employed at the time of her passing.

She is survived by her sister, Martha McDonald of Niceville, Florida; an aunt, Doris Christian of Jackson, Mississippi; and a host of cousins and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
