Paxton Ryan Smith

Funeral services for Paxton Ryan Smith Will be held Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Robert Hughes officiating.  Burial will be at Gumlog Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Smith, age 37, of Bailey, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021, at his residence.

Paxton spent most of his life working in the oil fields. He started at the entry level and with a lot of hard work worked his way to Supervisor level of drilling. He loved working in the oil fields but with 2 small children he gave it up to be home more. He started working in the family business Smith’s Carpet Sales & Cleaning with his dad.

What was most important to Paxton was his family. He was a loving father to his two kids, Kaysen & Kynlee. He loved nothing more than supporting, cheering, teaching them to be respectful. Some of Paxtons other interest included fishing & hunting. He loved taking his kids on family trips like the mountains. Their favorite place was the Mississippi Gulf Coast where they fished in the gulf off his boat or night fishing off the pier.

Survivors include his children, Kaysen Ryan Smith, and Kynlee Raye Smith; parents, Randy Smith and Janice Mitchell (Greg); sister, Jessica Lauren Smith; niece, Addisyn Clair Smith.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ollie and Willie C. Smith, and Robert and Mary Alice Brown.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Salanguit, Tommy Smith, Clay Booth, Chet Griffith, Gary Frederickson, Justin Smith, Bryant Benton, and Scott Pace.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 10, 2021, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
