Peggy Joyce Gibson Covington Services for Peggy Joyce Gibson Covington will be held Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Eric Mabbot officiating. Burial will be in Bailey Presbyterian Cemetery. Mrs. Covington, 83, of Meridian, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Bedford Care Center, Marion. She was a homemaker, member of Bailey Presbyterian Church and attended Collinsville High School. Mrs. Covington was married to Jesse David Covington for 25 years until his death in 1973. Survivors include her children, Dawn Covington Carney of Meridian, Jeffrey Gibson Covington of Belden, MS; grandchildren, John Lack Carney II of Dallas, TX, Jessica Carney Smith and her husband Adrian of Jackson, MS; great-grandchildren, Olivia Ansley Smith, Luke Russell Smith and Samuel Covington Smith all of Jackson, MS; brother, Gary L. Gibson and his wife June of Collinsville, MS; sisters, Treajetta Gibson of Collinsville, MS, Yvette Wilkerson of Bailey, MS; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Jesse David Covington Sr., son, Jesse David Covington, Jr.; parents, Heber Lamar Gibson and Clydie Christine Jones Gibson. Pallbearers will be Jerry Covington, Billy Covington, Will Wilkerson, Dr. Gary L. Gibson II, Dr. Adrian Smith, Glenn Caldwell and Walt Shinault. Honorary pallbearers are Olivia Smith, Luke Smith, Sam Smith, Cole Wilkerson, Ava Wilkerson, Chord Wilkerson, Lamar Gibson, Jonathan Gibson and Maddison Gibson.
