Peggy Mckinion

Funeral services for Mrs. Peggy McKinion will begin at 11:30 AM Monday, October 23, 2023 at Westwood Baptist Church with the Reverends Phillip Marshall and Joseph Knight officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. McKinion, 83, of Meridian, died Thursday, October 19, 2023 at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

Mrs. McKinion was the former owner of DeeAnn’s Hair Salon where she worked until her retirement. She was a longtime member of Westwood Baptist Church where she enjoyed providing cakes and food for all occasions at the church. She loved her church family, Sonshiners Group, and Thursday Domino Group. Her greatest love was her Lord, husband, Raymond, her boys, and their families.

Mrs. Peggy is survived by her sons Kenneth McKinion (Janet) and Keith McKinion (Jayne); granddaughters Laura Beatty (Patrick), Caitlin Rios (Evan); and her brother Odell Ward as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. McKinion is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond McKinion; her parents, Colon and Fannie Ward; and her sisters, Jolene Knight (Billy) and Betty Wright (Charles).

Pallbearers will be Thomas Knight, Joseph Knight, Jeff Knight, Michael Wright, Adam Wright, and Max Dickerson.

The McKinion family suggests memorials be made as donations to Westwood Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.
