Graveside service for Peggy Thornton will be held Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Bethel Southern Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bob Followell officiating, burial to follow. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Mrs. Peggy J. Thornton, age 73, of Kemper County passed away Friday, July 22, 2022, at Anderson Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include her husband, James Thornton; children, Tim Thornton (Amy) and Randy Thornton (Amber); grandchildren, Katie Gough (Brent), Malerie Thornton, Cooper Thornton, Courtney Clarke (Johnny), and Hannah Cherepanya (Brandon); great-grandchildren, Hudson, Lennox, and Sawyer Gough; sister, Nancy Liles; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by parents, J.D. and Carrie Payne; siblings, Marcus Payne, Martha Keller, Carolyn Ladd, Gerald Payne, and Johnny Payne.
