Phillip Smith Freeman Funeral services for Phillip Smith Freeman will be held Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church with Reverend John Branning and Reverend Tommy Gilbert officiating. Burial will be at Egger Cemetery in Caledonia, MS at 3:00 p.m. with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Freeman, age 56, formerly of Asheville, North Carolina, passed away, Wednesday, April 8, 2015 in Meridian. Phil graduated from Meridian High School in 1976 and attended Meridian Community College and the University of Southern Mississippi. He was a dispatcher with Daniels Communications in Asheville. He was an active member of Central United Methodist Church in Asheville and participated in Central's ministry for the homeless. Survivors include his mother, Margie Freeman of Meridian; brother, Carey L. Freeman and wife, Barbara, of Poquoson, Virginia; sisters, Diane Reynolds of Meridian and Kathy Stumpf and husband, Rick, of Asheville, North Carolina; nephew, Craig Freeman of Poquoson, Virginia; nieces, Kim Edgar of Pensacola, Florida and Kelly Elmore of Alpharetta, Georgia; and numerous great-nieces and nephew, cousins, aunts, and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father, Kelly Freeman; brother, Ray Freeman; brother-in-law, Jerry Reynolds; and aunt, Lovie Beasley. Pallbearers will be Kenny Myers, Clayton Cobler, Rick Williams, David Bogan, Terry Winstead, and Wyatt Webb. Memorials can be made to Central United Methodist Church in Meridian, Mississippi.
