Funeral services for Mrs. Phyllis Irene Holt Gordy will begin at 2:30pm. Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Robert Barham Funeral Home with Shane Carter officiating, Interment to follow at the Enondale Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Phyllis Irene Holt Gordy passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at the age of 90.

Phyllis was a resident of Enondale, Mississippi for 70 years. Phyllis married I.D. Gordy in 1948 in Akron, Ohio. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Enondale, his home place in Mississippi. Mrs. Gordy contributed greatly to the community and served alongside I.D. throughout the rest of their marriage. Phyllis was an established entrepreneur, working in both finance and operations of Gordy Farms. She graduated from Massillon High School in Akron, OH. While attending Akron University, she spent time training in nursing at the Akron City Hospital.  Phyllis was active in her community as a member of the Cattlemen’s Association and was active in her local church, school and library.  In addition to her work, she loved to be outdoors. Mrs. Gordy had a genuine ability to nurture. She lovingly cared for all things including her husband, her children, her garden, her community and animals.

Phyllis is survived by her three children Karen Schuck, Lynne Crow and Chris Gordy; her 6 grandchildren Holt Pittman, Meredith Tittle, Clinton Pittman, Hayley Smith, Kimberly Gordy, and Mark Schuck; and her 8 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Gordy is preceded in death by her father Mr. Howard Holt, her mother Zelda Phillips Holt and her beloved husband I.D. Gordy.

Pallbearers will be Holt Pittman, Matt Tittle, Clinton Pittman, Nick Smith, Brad Curtis and Mark Schuck. Honorary pallbearers will be Peter Dial, David McKelvaine, Randy Boyd Thompson and Brent Hammer.

The family suggest that memorials be made to The Lymphoma -Leukemia Society in addition to floral gifts.

The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until service time at the funeral home.
