Pruitt Smith Services for Pruitt Smith will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 11:30 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverends Wayne Edwards, Bill Webb and Claude Fleming officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Smith, 91, of Meridian, died Sunday, April 21, 2013 at his residence. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. Mr. Smith was a member of Midway Baptist Church for over 55 years where he taught Sunday school and was active in many other church activities. He retired from the Air National Guard in 1981. He enjoyed working in his garden and watching sports on TV. Mr. Smith was a loving Christian husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was always willing to help and be supportive wherever he was needed. He will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Jean Smith of Meridian; children, Gloria Harris of Meridian, Beverly LeBlanc and her husband Don of Pine Grove, LA, Garry Smith of Meridian; grandchildren, Justin LeBlanc, Gabriel LeBlanc, Valerie LeBlanc, Brenna Smith; brother, Walton Smith of Pell City, AL; numerous nieces and nephews. The family requests memorials be made to The American Heart Association. Pallbearers will be Justin LeBlanc, Gabriel LeBlanc, Norman Yates, Johnny Yates, Larry Yates and Claude Fleming Jr. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at robertbarhamffh.com.
