Funeral services for Mrs. Rachel Shelby will be held at 11:30 AM, Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Feirtag officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Robert Barham Family Funeral is honored to be entrusted with funeral arrangements.

Mrs. Shelby, 78, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024, at her residence after battling cancer for several months surrounded by her loving family. She retired from being a branch manager in the banking industry for 20 years. Rachel was a loving, hardworking wife, mom, and a very loved Mamaw. Rachel loved taking care of her family, enjoyed working in the garden, and being outside. She married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Wayne Shelby in 1964. They were married for 60 joyful and loving years. Together, they raised two amazing children, three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. To know Rachel was to love her. She was a woman who saw good in everyone and there is no doubt that she will be missed.

Mrs. Rachel is survived by her husband, Jerry Wayne Shelby; daughter, Terrie Carlisle (BJ); son, Mike Shelby (Sheri); grandchildren, Christopher Carlisle (Jordan), Shelby Crouch (Thomas), and Jamie Shelby; great-grandchildren, Colt Crouch, Remi Jo Carlisle, and Kipp Crouch; brothers, Jimmy Lide (Bonnie) and Cliff Lide (Eloise); sister-in-law, Sarah Shelby, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Rachel is preceded in death by her parents, BC and Ardith Lide.

Pallbearers will be BJ Carlisle, Christopher Carlisle, Thomas Crouch, Montgomery Campbell, Harold "Duke" Bateman, and Donald Key

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The American Cancer Society.
