Ralph M. Stewart, Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Ralph M. Stewart, Sr. will be held Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 11:30 A.M. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Stewart, age 85, of Meridian passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. His family was his life. He loved them more than anything and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren who he spoiled cooking for them and carting them around wherever they wanted to go. He retired from James River Papermill in Pennington as a millright after 38 years of faithful service. Prior to working at the mill, he had the privilege of playing semi-pro baseball for the Georgetown Red Sox beginning in 1956.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jewell Stewart; children, Samantha Boutwell; Pam Tanner (Joey); grandchildren, Coby Stewart; April Shelton (Joey); Clay Boutwell (Katie); Heather Dawson (Kyle); Trey Tanner (Kassidy); Jordan Carlisle (Chris); great grandchildren, Carson Boutwell; Leila Butler; Kaidence Young; Ava Dawson; Gage Shelton; Cooper Tanner; Rhett Tanner; Dillon Dawson; Sarah Beth Shelton; Ellie Tanner; Samuel Boutwell; Maggie Davis Dawson; Remi Jo Carlisle.

Preceded in death by his parents, George and Jessie Stewart; children, Ralph Stewart, Jr. and Clayton Matthew Stewart; siblings; Jimmy Stewart and Cheryl White.

Serving as pallbearers will be Roy Boutwell, Coby Stewart, Clay Boutwell, Kyle Dawson, Trey Tanner, Chris Carlisle.
