Ramona Gayle Thomas

Gayle will be laid to rest this Friday, March 17, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements are provided by Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.

Ramona Gayle Linton Thomas, age 59 of Meridian, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2017.

“Gayle”, as she is known to loved ones and friends, was born to the late John Wallace Linton and the late Doris Branning Linton, on July 26, 1957. Gayle is the second of four daughters born to John and Doris. She was often called “Baby Gayle” by her older sister, “Momma” by the baby sister, “Protector” by the third sister, and “Friend” by all.

Gayle attended grammar school at Oakland Heights Elementary and graduated in 1975 from Whynot Academy. While at Whynot Academy, Gayle was voted most talented, wittiest, and most popular.

She served the Meridian area as one of the most sought after mortgage brokers. Her reputation as someone who got things done was well known. She loved life and loved helping others. This is what she did for many of her clients.

Gayle was an amazing cook and loved entertaining family and friends. She also had a beautiful voice and would often entertain family and friends by singing her favorite country hits.

Gayle is also preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Eugene and Myrtice Linton and maternal grandparents, B.C. and Hazel Branning.

Gayle is survived by her husband, Johnny Ray Thomas; three daughters, Alicia Gayle (Curtis Ray, Sr.) Spiller, Tara Odette Thomas, and Jessica Kate Tomas; six grandsons, Jacob George, Joshua Linton, and Justin Alexander King, Curtis Ray Spiller,  Jr., Samuel Nathan, and Noah Michael Durham; three great-grandchildren, Jayden Ray, Mia Gayle, and Aly “Bug” Jade Thomas; three sisters, Kathy (Daryl) Dedwylder, Debbie Linton, and Kristi (Terry) Lanterman; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as, great nieces and nephews.
