Ray Wayne Thomas Funeral services for Ray Wayne Thomas will be held Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church with Brother Mike Everett and Brother Doug Goodman officiating. Burial will be at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Thomas, age 74, of Meridian, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015 at home. Ray was a retired plant manager at St. Louis Blow Pipe in Meridian. He was a loving husband, father and Pepaw to his family. He was an avid golfer and he loved to fish for flounder and shrimp at Orange Beach, Alabama. In his younger days Ray was a very talented athlete who excelled at basketball and baseball. He also enjoyed racing stock cars at Whynot Raceway for several years. He is survived by his wife, Penny Thomas; son, Keith Thomas and daughters, Rhonda Sanders (Pat) and Diane Williams (Daryl); grandchildren, Charlotte Greene (Clint), Katie Hogan (Tony), Ethan Williams (Hayley), Reece Williams; great grandson, Alden Greene; sisters, Janice Jones, Ruth Edwards, and JoAnn Yates; brother, James O. "Bud" Thomas and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Otis Thomas and mother, Bessie Thomas and sisters, Nell Ishee, Beatrice Lee and Margie Parmley. Pallbearers will be Jim McDuffie, L.C. Hudnall, Jason Willliams, Mike Speed, Fred Cross, Leslie Anderson. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at robertbarhamffh.com.
