Reverend Raymond Ray Boyd Funeral services for Reverend Raymond Ray Boyd will be held Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mamie Lunsford and Reverend Barbara Ann McCullers officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Boyd, age 81, of Scooba, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at his residence. He graduated with his bachelor's degree and masters in Administration from the University of West Alabama before receiving his Divinity degree from Emory University. Mr. Boyd was a lifelong resident of Scooba where he served as town clerk for 16 years. He retired from education after a 42 year career as a teacher and school principal. He also served as a Methodist minister for 33 years. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Lucille Callahan Boyd of Scooba; children, Lisa Carol Boyd Edmonds and husband, Larry of Scooba, Scotty Ray Boyd and wife, Angie of Meridian, David Ray Boyd and special friend, Lisa Miller of Scooba; grandchildren, Bradley Scott Edmonds, Dylan Ray Boyd, Madison Paige Boyd, Alexis Alien Boyd, and Sebastian Ray. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Jackman Boyd and Birdie Lee Smith Boyd; brothers, Jack Boyd and George Lockley; and sister, Estelle Lockley Miller. Pallbearers will be Gregory Williams, Gerad Briggs, Ricky Stevens, Britt Gully, Brent Fitzgerald, David Singleton, and Danny Boyd.
