Funeral services for Mr. Raymond A Fountain will begin at 2:00 pm Monday, December 23, 2019 at Jones Chapel Church of God, 5880 Hwy 145 S. Meridian, MS 39301 with Reverend Ron Leonard officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Fountain, 93, of the Clarkdale Community, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Diversicare of Meridian.

Mr. Fountain was a faithful member of Jones Chapel Church of God for over 50 years, where he served on numerous boards and committees over the years. Mr. Fountain proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1945 in World War II; where he saw action in the Pacific during conflict deployment. He was co-owner of NAPA Auto Parts Store for 14 years and later worked for Carquest Auto Parts Store. He served two terms as Lauderdale County Supervisor in District 4, now District 5.

Mr. Raymond is survived by his son, Larry Fountain (Gale); daughter, Sheri Rush (Jack); very special niece, Debbie Rutledge Gabriel; and a very special friend and companion, Maxine Reynolds. Granddaughters, Shannon Fountain, Lauren Fountain James (Jeremy), Leah Williams Humphreys (Jim), Abbey Rush Crane (Josh), and Cameron Rush McMillan (Jonathan). Great-grandchildren, Reily Gordon, Caroline Everhart, Asa James, Avery Humphreys, Alison Humphreys, Ander Humphreys, Jon Luke McMillan, and Aubrey Crane; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Mr. Raymond is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Maxine Sollie Fountain; father, Raymond Earl Fountain; mother, Roby Pickard Fountain; sisters, Mary Earl Fountain and Vita Fountain Minor.

The family suggest that memorials be made as donations to the Jones Chapel Church of God Building Fund in lieu of flowers.

Pallbearers will be Leslie Scott, Ryan Hinton, Reily Gordon, Jonathan McMillan, Jim Humphreys, Jeremy James, and Josh Crane.
