Funeral services for Raymond L. Torrance Sr. will be held Sunday, August 9, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Roy Dabbs and Randy Miller officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Torrance, age 86, of Meridian, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at his home. He was a 1948 graduate of Meridian High School, lettering in football. He served honorably in the United States Marine Corp, was employed by South Central Bell for 38 years, and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. R.L. was a mason and a member of Poplar Springs United Methodist Church. Survivors include his daughters, Melinda Torrance Adams and Rebecca Torrance White (John); son, Raymond L. "Bubba" Torrance Jr. of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, Daisy Victoria White, Joni Melinda Adams, Raymond L. "Traye" Torrance III (Ivy) and Ashley Elizabeth Torrance of Nashville, Tennessee; great grandchildren, Isabella Jeanne Torrance, Karolina Eileen Torrance, Destynie Nicole Phillips, and Camrynn Earl Acosta; sisters, Peggy Torrance and Mazola Clayton of Oakridge, Tennessee; brother, Dexter Torrance (Olene); sisters-in-law, Gloria Clay Kelly and Jan Clay Keating (Ernest) of Grand Prairie, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Jeanne Clay Torrance; brothers, John Torrance, James Torrance, and Walter S. Torrance; sister, Dorothy "Dot" Torrance Northam; mother, Falbie Huddleston Torrance; brothers-in-law, William Kelly, Clifford Clayton, and Robert "Bobo" Northam; and son-in-law, Rodney Adams. Pallbearers will be Felix Bryan, David Evans, John White, Bubba Torrance, Jason May, Brock Chaney, and Bobby Faerber. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at robertbarhamffh.com.
