Raymond Earl Moore Services for Raymond Earl Moore will be held Monday, September 30, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Tommy Jones and Dr. Richard Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Raymond Earl Moore quietly passed away on Thursday, September 26 at his residence. His wife, Rowena S. Moore and several other family members and friends were present with him at his passing. Raymond was survived by his wife Rowena S. Moore, his brother Brooks (Sonny) Moore and his wife Addie, sisters-in-law Mary Sutter and Ruth Carr, a large number of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Raymond also leaves behind his special friend Jimmy Creel and many other friends who enriched his life and whose lives were enriched by him. Raymond was preceded in death by his father and mother, George Brooks and Margaret Moore and by his first wife Eva Lou Moore. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Melvin Moore and Bill Moore and his sisters Elsie Smith, Clarice Griffis and Betty Coker. Raymond served in the U.S, Navy during WWII and earned an honorable discharge. He worked at Reliable Chevrolet before starting Meridian Frame and Body Works. Raymond was a long-time member of Fifth Street United Methodist Church and later became a member of Hebron Baptist Church. Raymond was a very skilled wood-worker, was involved with the Meridian Stockyards, an avid golfer at Northwood Country Club, and was a Master Mason of Meridian Lodge #308, a member of the York Rite Bodies in Meridian and a member of Hamasa Shriners. The family wishes to thank those who cared for and assisted Raymond in his last days, especially Sheila Irby, Chris Coleman, Francis Issac and Deborah Thompson.
