Funeral services for Mr. Raymond L. “Bubba” Torrance, Jr. will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00 until 12:45 prior to the service. Interment will be at Mt. Hebron Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Raymond L. “Bubba” Torrance Jr., 67, passed away on November 30, 2025. Bubba was born on November 12, 1958 in Kosciusko, MS to the late Mrs & Mrs. Raymond L. Torrance Sr.
Bubba grew up in Meridian, MS with a big personality, a competitive spirit, and a talent for athletics that followed him throughout his life.
Bubba graduated from Lamar High School in 1976, where his athletic talent quickly became clear. He continued his football career at Delta State University, and later played baseball at Meridian Community College, where he earned the home run record at MCC, an achievement he carried with pride. His love for sports extended beyond school—Bubba played on traveling recreational softball teams, building friendships and memories that lasted a lifetime.
He worked for General Motors for 36 years, known for his dedication, strong work ethic, and straightforward nature. Bubba retired in 2020, closing a long chapter of loyal service.
A true fan at heart, Bubba loved Mississippi State University and rarely missed a chance to cheer them on. Hail State!
Bubba was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Torrance Sr. and Jeanne Clay Torrance, and his sister, Rebecca “Becky” Torrance White.
Bubba is survived by his caring wife, Elisa Truelove Torrance; his daughter, Ashley Elizabeth Torrance (Gyasi) of Nashville, TN; his son, Raymond L. “Traye” Torrance III of Omaha, Nebraska; six granddaughters; Karolina, Isabella , Alexandria, Juliette, Olivia, and Estella and one great-granddaughter, Emery. Along with his sister: Melinda Torrance Addams; and nieces Joni and Daisy.
Bubba will be remembered for his bold personality, his love for sports and history, his family, and the countless stories he leaves behind. His presence will be missed, but his impact will live on in all who knew and loved him.
