Graveside services for Mrs. Rebecca Tipper Esther will begin at 11:00 AM Friday, August 16, 2024, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Bro. David Chambers officiating. Interment will follow graveside rites. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Mrs. Esther, 84, of Meridian, died Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Northpointe Health and Rehab in Meridian.
Rebecca was born January 11, 1940, in Gretna, FL. She was the eighth of nine children born to Walter and Alma Tipper. She spent her formative years in nearby Quincy, FL. In 1957 through mutual friends, Becky met Jim Esther, a Korean War Army Veteran; they fell in love and married in June of that year.
Becky dedicated her life to being a devoted mother to three daughters, Juanita Pearman (Stan), Teresa Wallace (Jim), and Leigh Ann Esther Cloud (Kaci). In addition to her daughters, Becky is survived by three grandsons, Joel Wallace (Melinda), Ryan Wallace (Ellen), and Cameron Duncan (Sarah Beth); three granddaughters, Tiffany Ferrell (Nick), Trina Beech (Tim), and Tanya Shirley (Billy); Thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her special niece, Anna Dean; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.
Becky’s love for her family knew no bounds, and she was devoted to creating a warm home. Her unwavering love for and strength in The Lord was a constant; her love for life was contagious; her kind heart touched everyone who knew her-She never met a stranger. She enjoyed sharing her wonderful talents of a good homecooked meal, beautiful flowers from her yard, and her delicious homemade carrot cake, and party cups. Becky’s beautiful, infectious smile could light up a room-she was endeared by many, and will be missed until we see her again in Heaven.
Mrs. Esther is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Alma Tipper; her husband Jim Esther; and her eight siblings, Thelma, Clara, Mary, Marie, Alice, Louis, John, and Jake.
Pallbearers will be Stanley Pearman, Cameron Duncan, Jim Wallace, Ryan Wallace, Joel Wallace, and Jackson Wallace.
