Rev. Hubert Rutherford, Sr.

Funeral Services for the Rev. Hubert Rutherford, Sr. will begin at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow at Bethel United Methodist Church cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Rev. Rutherford, 87, of Long Beach, formerly of Meridian, passed away, Friday, April 13, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospice in Gulfport, MS.

Rev. Hubert was a twice retired United Methodist Minister of 45 years having serving his last 20 years at Bethel United Methodist Church. Rev. Rutherford was a Korean War veteran and was awarded the Bronze Star for his bravery in war.

Rev. Rutherford is survived by his wife of 64 years Mary Rutherford; children, Margaret Ann (Mark) Faulk, and Hubert “Bert” (Sharon) Rutherford, Jr. Grandchildren, Beth Wolfe, Jennifer Graham, Josh Rutherford, and five great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hubert is preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and two brothers.

The family request that donations be made to Bethel United Methodist Church in lieu of flowers.
