Reverend George Barry Skelton Services for Reverend George Barry Skelton will be held Monday, January 9, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Timothy Beard, Billy Owen and Davey Wilkinson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Reverend Skelton, 67, of Lauderdale died Friday, January 6, 2012 at his residence. Reverend Skelton served in the Air Force and after he was discharged from the service work for several years at Sears while he was completing his education. He taught at Enterprise High School for five years while serving as a part time Pastor for the United Methodist Church before entering the full time ministry. He served the Neshoba Northwest Charge for four years, the Druid Hills United Methodist Church for eight years, Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church for thirteen years, Union/Mt. Zion Methodist Church for three years and Coopers Chapel in Quitman for four years. Barry loved his Lord, his family and the many members of his church families. His is survived by his wife of forty two years Patricia Skelton; sons Mitch Skelton and friend Cindy Ayers, Allen Skelton and wife Angela, daughters Misty Hammett and husband Tom and Leah Smith and husband Larry; grandchildren Justin and Connor Skelton, Victoria Issac, Chae' Issac and fiancé Josh Denson and Nicholas Issac; great-grandson Corey Yates Denson; father George A. Skelton and wife Johnetta; sisters Kay Brandt, Paula Givens and husband Roy, Cindy Peden and husband Chris; mother-in-law Dorothy Mitchell and several nieces and nephews. The family request memorials be made to The Methodist Children's Home, 805 North Flag Chapel Road, Jackson, Mississippi 39209-2208. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, nephews and friends.
