Obituary

Rhonda "Susan" Enns of Bagdad, Florida died April 7, 2026, at Pensacola's Baptist Hospital, after a courageously fought battle with cancer. She was born November 7, 1957, to Pearlie Roberts Crawford and USMC GySgt Ray L. Crawford, on his birthday in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

Susan grew up in Meridian, Mississippi, where she was a proud Deb at MHS, class of 1975. She held several jobs in Meridian, namely, a city animal control officer, photographer in training with Odie Mosher Photography, and a People's Bank employee. She raised her son, Stephen Christopher James in Meridian, New Orleans, Ft. Morgan, and Pensacola, until his death from leukemia at the age of 24, March 26, 2006, in Jackson, Ms.

She married Lenny Enns in 2005 and helped manage his business for 17 years, in Flora, Ms. before retiring to renovate their century-old home in Florida, near her beloved ocean. Most all things creative and enjoyed related to the ocean for Susan (Flipper Girl), including her love for painting, pottery, photography, Scuba diving, geology, and treasure hunting. She also had a lifelong adoration for plants, cockatiels, parrots, a multitude of unusual dog breeds, and all of her BMWs.

Susan will be remembered for her exuberance and a giving heart, always wanting to love and be loved. She cherished family, which for her had nothing to do with DNA, and included her stepchildren, Godchildren, friends, and their families; as well as, her son's dear friends, who lovingly still called and visited "Mom #2." If she loved you, then you knew it; everybody knew it!

She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved son. She is survived by her husband, Lenny; stepchildren, Neil James (Karen), Emily Sellers (Robbie), and Whit Stuckey, with their total of seven children and Neil's four grandchildren; siblings, Rudger (Dawn), Gregory (Sheri), and Ginger Crawford (Chuck Chamblin); nieces and nephews, Kimberly Burns (Ryan), Asa Crawford, Alli Omlor, Cody Crawford (Madison), Chelsea Gray (Jack) and Jake Litchfield; four great-nieces and one great-nephew; many loving cousins, aunts, and an uncle; plus, a great number of dear friends.

A graveside memorial will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, 7774-A Hwy 39N, Meridian, Ms. If you would like to donate in her memory, please do so to The Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders Facility or the Cancer Institute Research Fund.
