Funeral services for Richard D. Drachenberg will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Evangel Temple with Reverend Michael Boles, Reverend Kim Culpepper, and Reverend Ronald Boles officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Drachenberg, age 79, of Meridian, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014 at his home. He worked all his life at Flint-Kote. Mr. Drachenberg was a charter member of Evangel Temple. He was very involved at the church teaching Sunday school, member of the church board, worked on various church productions, visited the sick at the hospital, and senior ministries. He loved fishing with his son, grandson, and anyone else that would go with him. He enjoyed visiting with his friends and former co-workers at Flint-Kote employee breakfast group. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Joyce Limerick Drachenberg; son, Craig Drachenberg and wife, Donna; daughter, DanaWedgworth and husband, Wayne; grandchildren, Keith Rigdon and wife, Debra, Kevin Rigdon and wife, Fran, Whitney Drachenberg Gardner and husband, Justin, and Levi Wedgworth; great grandchildren, Cory Rigdon, Zac Rigdon, Rilynn Rigdon, Reagan Rigdon, Peyton Rigdon, Palmer Rigdon, and Presley Rigdon; sisters, Rosie Lee Boles and husband, Melvin, Mary Lee Boles, and Virgie Johnson; numerous brothers and sisters-in-laws; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Lee and Gertrude Drachenberg. Craig and Dana would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Ron and Patti Drachenberg for the generous hospitality given to them and their dad while he received treatment at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2014 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home and an hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
