Richard Jerry Brand Graveside services for Richard Brand will be held Sunday, May 17, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. at Lockhart Cemetery. Reverend Chuck Fowler and Reverend Sephus Garrett will officiate, with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Brand, 77, of Meridian, passed away May 15 at Anderson Regional Hospital. Richard began his Air Force career at the age of seventeen. After doing several overseas tours, he retired as a Master Sergeant and served in the Mississippi Air National Guard. He was also employed by James River Paper Corporation for nearly thirty years. He lived for his family, in particular his grandson, Kade. Richard and Kade enjoyed watching the Blue Angels, Alabama sporting events, and building miniature train sets. He was very patriotic and had a deep love for his country and all things military. Richard was a survivor and lived for more than twenty years after a heart transplant and battles with cancer. Richard is survived by his wife of fifty one years, Virginia; his daughter, DeLisa Brand (Cody) Perkins; and grandson, Kade Brand. He was preceded in death by Ernest and Ivalea Brand and brother, James Truman Brand. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at robertbarhamffh.com.
