Funeral services for Mr. Richard “Rickey” Kirkman will begin at 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Pastor C.W. Kennedy and Bro. Clay Chancellor officiating. Interment will follow graveside rites at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, officiated by Bro. Clay Chancellor and Mr. Tyler Shirley. The Kirkman family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at the funeral home. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Kirkman, 68, of Enterprise died Friday, May 1, 2026, at Piedmont- Fayette Hospital in Fayetteville, GA following a brief illness, surrounded by his family and friends. 

Rickey was a family man who loved the Lord. He was a Christian by faith and enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. His world revolved around his family; he was always involved with his grandchildren’s lives and always helping in each of their activities. He was proud of each member of his family. In his younger years, he enjoyed rodeos, both bronc and bull riding. He married his High School Sweetheart, and on July 4th of 2026, would celebrate 50 years of marriage. Rickey was a fixer; he enjoyed helping others solve problems, no matter how big or small; he was a hard worker and had a work ethic second to none. He was trained in the school of life and hard knocks; working from the ground up. He began his electrical career with A & B Electric, Edwards Electric, Yates Technical Group, Kirkman Construction and retiring as Alabama Branch Manager of White Electric. Following his retirement, he often assisted with several natural disasters lending aid, with his church, in both manpower and equipment. He was also a Mason and member of the Enterprise Lodge #585.

Rickey is survived by his wife, Linda Kirkman; children, Jerry Kirkman (Courtney) and Casey Kirkman (fiancé Sandi); grandchildren, Zack Kirkman, Parker Kirkman, and Walker Kirkman; his four legged companion, Stormy; his siblings, David Rainey (Susan), Tommy Dechara (Susan), Jimmy Kirkman (Cindy), and Sheryl Ivey (Tony); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Mr. Kirkman is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Trudy Boone.

Pallbearers will be Zack Kirkman, Parker Kirkman, Billy Stewart, Jimmy Kirkman, Tyler Shirley, John Porter, Cole Collins, and Noah Warren. Honorary Pallbearers will be Carter Phillips and Tony Stone.

Rickey will be remembered for his strength, his kindness, and the way he made others feel. His legacy lives on through his family which he cherished so deeply. If you knew him, you knew his whistle that could stop you in your tracks instantly. Whether he was cheering for you, or trying to get your attention, it was his signature.
