Richard "W" Ricky Briggs

Graveside services for Mr. Richard W. “Ricky” Briggs, Jr. will begin Friday, September 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Briggs Chapel Cemetery with Rev. David Willis officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with arrangements.

Mr. Briggs, 66, of Demopolis, AL, passed away Tuesday. September 25, 2018 at Bryan Whitfield Memorial Hospital in Demopolis.

Mr. Ricky enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a graduate of DeKalb High School and soon joined the U.S. Army in 1970. He served 24 months in Germany, during the Vietnam War. Mr. Briggs was employed with the Illinois Gulf Central Railroad and after retirement he was involved in ownership and management of automobile sales companies in various locations throughout the South East. He was also a member of First Methodist Church of Demopolis.

Survivors include children, Clint Briggs (Kelly), Jason Briggs, Matt McKinney (Tara), and Katie McKinney. Grandchildren, Ethan and August Briggs; Ian and Julia Briggs; Porter and Tomas McKinney. One sister Becky Briggs (Eddie) as well as a host of friends and extended family.

Mr. Briggs is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Anne Briggs.
