Richard Wallace Williams, Jr. passed on Saturday, October 5, 2024. Richard Wallace Williams, Jr. “Rick” was born in Meridian, Mississippi, son of Richard Williams and Aline Dove. His father was diagnosed with TB prior to Richard’s birth, allowing him to only see his son through a glass window. Richard, along with his sisters, Jacqueline “Jackie” and Evelyn, were raised at Palmer Orphanage in Columbus, Mississippi. They, along with their families, maintained a close relationship throughout their lives. Evelyn and Jacqueline preceded Richard in death. Richard served his country for thirty years in the United States Navy. In 1960, Rick married Judith “Judy” Kennedy. They lived the military life and raised three children, Michael, Capri and Roger After his military retirement, Richard was involved in several other employment adventures, fully retiring when he was 63. At that time Judy joined him in retirement, giving them the opportunity to travel the country. They spent many summers in Montana and winters in the Florida Keys. Richard loved fishing, hunting, snorkeling, and spending time with family and friends. We were blessed to have many years with him as he lived to the ripe old age of 93. He was a huge Alabama Crimson Tide fan. Game days were spent with his Alabama flag up, his Alabama jacket and hat on, and his beloved dog, Skipper, wearing his Alabama bandana. Rick will be missed by many. Survivors include his wife, Judy; his children, Mike and son Justin, Capri and husband, Shawn Little, and their daughter McKinnon, Roger and his daughter, Kasey; his nieces, Vickie, Marilyn and Jamie that he referred to as “The Massey Boys.” Online condolences may be expressed at robertbarhamffh.com.
