Funeral services for Ms. Rita Walterine McCary Riley will begin at 12:00 pm Friday, May 31, 2019 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Michael Bird officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. The family suggest all friends wear casual attire from Ms. Rita’s request.

Ms. Riley, 78, of Bailey, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Anderson Regional Medical Center.

Ms. Riley retired after over 20 years as an LPN at East Mississippi State Hospital. She was an active member of Midway Baptist Church. She was married for over 46 years to James “Jimmy” Riley. She was affectionately known as “Maw Maw” by her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons James Glen Riley Jr. (Suzette), Gary Anthony Riley, Gregory Kern Riley (Jena). Grand children, Dusty Riley, Devin Riley, Hunter Riley, Haylee Riley, Dana Riley, Dallas Riley, and Dawson Riley. Brothers R.C. McCary (Mildred), James McCary (Aline), Sisters in Law, Elaine McCary, and HuiCha McCary and her beloved puppies Rilee and Reggie, as well a host of nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her Husband James Glen Riley Sr., her parents, William F. McCary and Mellie Ethel Moffett McCary. Brothers, W.H. McCary, Major McCary, Odis McCary, Horace McCary, Adolph McCary, Gerald McCary, and Austin McCary, Sisters, Rosie Smith, Marjorie Torrance, and Callie Gross.

The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Wilcox and staff, Northpoint Rehab and staff, Anderson Regional Medical Center Doctors and Nursing staff, Midway Baptist Church and  Westwood Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be family members.

The family would suggest memorials be made to Midway Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.
