After returning from the War, he married the love of his life, Wyc. Aviation was Rob's passion, he owned a small plane which he loved to fly. Later in life he took to the road in his RV, often spending months away from home seeing the US, and making many friends along the way. Rob had a zest for adventure, he enjoyed entertaining and conversing with his friends, family, and acquaintances. He was well known for his sense of humor and surprise pranks. His annual New Year parties had become a staple with the neighbors for the past 20 years. "Chappy" had a variety of jobs over the years, but ultimately retired from Sears as Division Manager of Appliances and A/C at Coral Gables. As long time member of the South Miami First Methodist Church he was actively involved in many of the church's functions and operations. He is pre-deceased by his wife, Wyc Naylor Chapman; brothers Leigh, Roy and L.L. "Bud". He is survived by his sister, Margaret C. Jones of Miami, to whom he was a loving and caring brother, checking on her morning and night to make sure she was OK. He was her go-to man for advice, help and companionship. She especially treasures a poem he gave her that reads: We laugh, we cry, we make time fly. Best friends are we, my sister and me. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Mary S. Chapman of Tocoa, Ga., and many nieces and nephews and their families. A generous and giving person, he always took time to keep in touch with his extended family. He will be missed by all.
