Robbie W. Walters Funeral services for Robbie Walters will be held Saturday, December 6, 2014, at 2:00 pm at Bethel United Methodist Church. Reverend Hubert Rutherford and Gary Newell will officiate. Burial will be in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Walters, 88, of Prattville, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, December 3 in Prattville. Robbie was born to the late Robert Carl and Bonnie Dickey Wolfe on November 3, 1926 in Okolona, MS. After graduation, she started work at South Central Bell Telephone Company. She retired from there after 34 years. She married the late William S. Walters in 1970 and they lived together in Meridian, MS until his death in 1994. After his death, she moved to live with her sister, Mildred Murff, in Pensacola, FL. After her sister's death, she moved to Alabama. Robbie was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Meridian and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, Mississippi Chapter #36. Robbie is survived by two stepsons, William C. Walters and his wife, Betty and Lee E. Walters and his wife, Wally; 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren and 3 nieces. She was also preceded in death by a stepson, Joe H. Walters and his wife, Norma. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, in care of Hubert Rutherford, 8091 Okatibbee Dam Road, Collinsville, MS, 39325.
