Robert "Porter" Adkins

Funeral services for Robert “Porter” Adkins will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 31 at Faith Baptist Church in Meridian with Rev. Jack Kern officiating.  Burial will follow at Hickory Cemetery in Hickory, Mississippi.  Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Robert “Porter” Adkins, 32, of Meridian, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 25, 2018.

He loved all things “Ole Miss” and some of his favorite memories were spent tailgating in the Grove with friends.  His greatest accomplishment in life was his daughter Grace, who he lovingly referred to as Daddy’s Princess.  He recently celebrated one full year of sobriety, a defining moment in his life.  His sense of humor was unmatched and there wasn’t a person he met that didn’t instantly become his friend.

Porter will forever be remembered by his wife Faith Adkins, daughter Grace and unborn child, by his parents Shirley Buckley, Bob Adkins and stepmother Melinda Adkins, brothers Zach (Tanja) and Hayden (Madi) Adkins, niece Neely Adkins, grandparents Patricia Buckley, Dixie Adkins and Dr. LB Adkins along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by maternal grandfather Alex Buckley, and special namesake friends Judge L B and Louise Porter.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Faith Baptist Church building fund; 5050 MS-19, Meridian, MS 39301

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 30 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.
