Funeral services for Bob O’Meara will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at 5:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with Reverend Jack Giles officiating.
Mr. O’Meara, 64, of Meridian and formerly of Cabin Creek, WV, passed away May 13 at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Bob, lovingly nicknamed “Lucky”, was an easy-going man who never met a stranger. Once you met him, he was your friend for life. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. A true sports fan, he loved the WVU Mountaineers. Bob was a history buff, and loved to travel with his wife, Debbie, to historical places. For the past four years, he was an employee of Mississippi Power Southern Company as an operator at the Kemper County Plant. He was a talented trombone player and had a beautiful singing voice. Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Bob is survived by his wife of ten years, Debbie; son, Robert “Robbie” O’Meara II (Andrea); step-children, Lena Dickerson (Kenny), Erica Davies (Geoff) and Paul Smith; grandchildren, Taylor Wynegar (Andrew) , Gracie and Riley O’Meara and Cassie, Savannah, and Nick Davies; siblings, Barbara Cooper and Bill O’Mara (Betty); great-grandchild, Jeffery.
Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at robertbarhamffh.com.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in his honor to the Civil War Trust. Memorials can be made at civilwar.org.
Visitation will be held from 4:00pm-5:00pm prior to service.
