Private services for Robert Frank Glazar will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Mediator with The Reverend Morris K. Thompson, III, officiating with interment in the church’s columbarium. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Glazar, age 78, of Meridian, died at his home on Monday, July 7, 2020. A long-time resident of Meridian, he graduated from Meridian High School in 1959 and later earned two master's degrees from the University of Southern Mississippi. His working life was spent leading and directing volunteer programs at East Mississippi State Hospital, Laurelwood Center, and the Foster Grandparent Program in Lauderdale County. He was an active board member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and recently served on the board of the Meridian Little Theater.

In retirement, he volunteered with AARP, teaching Safe Driving classes, and recently volunteered at the Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Center.

He was an active member of the Episcopal Church of the Mediator, serving on the vestry and as Senior Warden.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Glass Glazar; his son, Robert Joseph Glazar (Lindsay) and grandsons Robert Woods Glazar and Thomas Whitman Glazar, all of Birmingham, Alabama; and his brother-in-law Robert T. Glass of Cornelia, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his parents Barney and Ernestine Tarver Glazar.

The family requests memorials be made to the Memorial Fund at the Episcopal Church of the Mediator.
