Robert was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in his early years and then most recently he was a member of Blackwater Baptist Church. He proudly served in the Army and National Guard in the Civil Engineering Division, where he retired with 20 years of military service. As a civilian he retired from Fairbanks Scales after 37 years of faithful employment, and he also retired from Sears after more than 20 years of employment. Even after retirement, he would volunteer his time to others at Rush Foundation Hospital as a Pink Lady, and he wore that title well. He was an avid fan of all Mississippi State University Bulldog sports, never missing a Maroon Friday. Robert Earl was a well rounded person, “a man of many talents”, and he was always looking for ways to help others. Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Brenda Sheryl Hardy, children; Robert Earl Hardy Jr. (Kristina), Lee Prince, Christi Prince, and Ken Hardy (Mallory), grandchildren; Robert Earl “Trey” Hardy III, Caitlynn Diminovich, Meghan Prince and Chadwick Prince, 6 great grandchildren, brother; J.W. Hardy (Ruth), and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 30 years, Jeannie Hardy, his parents, Nallie and Mary Alice Hardy, grandson Cody Diminovich, brothers; James Hardy, O’Neil Hardy, Tommie Hardy, and Nallie Hardy Jr. Pallbearers will be James Hardy, Jr., Eric Hardy, Chris Hardy, Trey Hardy, Shawn Nowell, and Tommy Nester. The family would like to thank all of his caregivers. Memorial donations may be made to Blackwater Baptist Church. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at robertbarhamffh.com.
