Robert Daniel Hutchinson, Sr. Services for Robert Daniel Hutchinson, Sr. will be held Friday, November 19, 2010 at 2:00 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Kevin Jones officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Mr. Hutchinson, 84, of Meridian, died Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was the son of Bessie Coats Hutchinson and Robert E. Hutchinson. Mr. Hutchinson was the beloved husband of Mary Meeks Hutchinson for almost 61 years. Mr. Hutchinson loved Jesus, his church and his Sunday School class. Dan was a devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and he proudly served as a deacon in the Baptist Church for almost 50 years. He served in the U.S. Army in Pacific Theatre in World War II and was a Master Mason for over 61 years in King Solomon Lodge 333. Mr. Hutchinson attended the University of Mississippi and graduated from Mississippi State University. He retired from Sears after 30 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Mary; sister, Katherine Simmons; children, Libby and Ellis Hedaya of Atlanta, GA, Anne Hutchinson and Stuart Hara of Houston, TX, Kathy and Bob Hutchinson of Spring, TX; grandchildren, Ryan Allen Smith of Atlanta, GA, Sean Hutchinson Mangieri of Atlanta, GA, Michael Daniel Hutchinson and his wife Crystal of Myrtle Beach, SC, Amy Marie Hutchinson of Spring, TX, Katherine Anne Tilghman of Houston, TX, David Ellis Hedaya of Atlanta, GA, Alexander Abraham Hedaya of Atlanta, GA.He was preceded in death by his mother, Bessie Coats Hutchinson; daughter, Mary Danice and brother-in-law G. B. Simmons. His absence will be filled only by our future reunion together. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
