Robert E. Singley Services for Robert E. Singley, will be held Sunday, September 2, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Joe Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Singley, 76, of Meridian, died Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Rush Hospital. Mr. Singley was born September 26, 1935 at the family home near Gilbertown, AL to Irks and Josephine Singley, who have preceded Robert in death. He graduated from Silas High School. Mr. Singley was united in marriage to Clara Manasco in Meridian, MS on September 29, 1956. He was retired from the Meridian Star Newspaper after thirty years of service. Mr. Singley was a longtime Meridian area resident who truly enjoyed his longtime hobby as a cattle rancher and tree farmer. Robert's passions were his family, his cattle, his tree farming, watching grandchildren play sports, and encouraging grandchildren to get a college education. He will be remembered as a hard-working man and will be greatly missed by all. Left to cherish Robert's memory are his wife of 55 years, Clara Singley; daughter, Sherry Jones and her husband Dr. Matt of Tyler, TX; son, Robert "Bobby" Singley, Jr. and his wife Patti of Meridian; daughter, Kathy McGraw and her husband Byron of Meridian; eight grandchildren, Matthew Singley and his wife Alisha, Jason McGraw and his wife Chasity, Benjamin McGraw, Emily and Molly Singley, all of Meridian; Joshua, Caleb, and Seth Jones of Tyler, TX; one great-grandchild, newborn Weston Singley of Meridian; five brothers and one sister, James and his late wife Dot, Aaron and his wife Jean, Jimmy and his wife Bobbie, Arnold and is wife Ruby, Betty McBride and her husband Gerry. Pallbearers will be Byron McGraw, Jason McGraw, Ben McGraw, Matt Jones, Caleb Jones, Seth Jones, Matthew Singley and Arnold Singley.
