Robert W. West, Sr.

Funeral services for Robert W. West, Sr. will be held Monday, May 1, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Larry Reynolds and Reverend Marty Harper officiating. Burial will be at Long Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. West, age 75, of Meridian passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017 at his residence.

Mr. West retired from James River Corporation after 42 years. He was a member of Cotton Heights Freewill Baptist Church. He was a long time coach at Long Creek Baseball Association and an avid car collector, but most of all he was a life time Alabama fan.

Survivors include his sons, Robert W. West, Jr. (Connie), Richard Timothy West (TiLynn); grandchildren, David Wayne West, Stewart Rann West, Richard Timothy West, Jr., Season Clar West, Sierra Danielle West; greatgrandchildren, Marlee Che West, Christopher West, and Isaac West; siblings, Thelma West Pitts, Raymond West, Richard West, Peggy West Farris, Judy West Bell; brother-in-law, Ben Russell; sister-in-law, Peggy Russell.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of fifty-plus years, Blanche Marie West; parents, Raymond Lee and Thelma Fitts West; siblings, Louise West Rudd, Audrey West Allbert, Jean West Gilley, Mary Jane West McCullough, Roy West, Caroline West Wilson, Virginia West, and Edward West.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Cotton Heights Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund.

Pallbearers are Ray Shelton, Tommy Harper, Keith Stewart, Paul Holifield, Jamie Giles, Randy Rawson, Jamie Giles.

Honorary pallbearers are Norman Rutledge, Eddie Jackson, Ronnie Rawson, Arnold Culpepper, Bobby Jo Griffin, Paul Glasson, Jim Limbrick, Jim Duncan, Kevin Bounds.
