Roberta M. Follett Mother, Grandmother, Teacher Services for Roberta M. Follett will be held Saturday, June 19, 2010, at 10:00 o'clock a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Dr. John Temple officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday, June 18, 2010. Mrs. Follett, 83, of Meridian, Mississippi died Friday, June 11, 2010, at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, Mississippi. Mrs. Follett's lifelong devotion was to her family. Earlier in life she also dedicated herself to teaching in Meridian public elementary schools, as well as Lamar and St. Patrick. She was active in the Parkinson's Support Group for many years. Mrs. Follett also loved golf and the piano. She served on the board at Briarwood Country Club. Mrs. Follett was born October 6, 1926 in Spring Valley, Illinois to Florence O. and Robert E. Miltenberger. She graduated from Northwestern University in 1948 with a B.A. in elementary education. She married George L. Follett on August 20, 1949. Together they raised five children. Mrs. Follett leaves behind her daughter Susan L. Follett and her husband Gary Dion of St. Paul, Minnesota and four sons, Jeffrey C. Follett of Warren, Michigan and his wife Debra; George L. Follett, Jr. and his wife Lean of Meridian; Randolph F. Follett and his wife Melissa of Starkville, Mississippi; and Timothy A. Follett of Meridian. Along with her children, Mrs. Follett was survived by her brother, Robert E. Miltenberger and his wife Bea of Lewes, Delaware and fourteen grandchildren, Dani and Timothy Follett-Dion of St. Paul; Adam Follett and his wife, Rebecca of Meridian; Jacob, Collin, and Cameron Follett, all of Warren; Nathaniel and Andrew Follett of Meridian; Forrest, Victoria, Anna Catherine, and Ethan Follett, all of Starkville; Matt of Bay Springs, Mississippi and Lizzie of Meridian. She was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Follett, Sr.; her sister Mona Leicht; and her daughter-in-law, Vicky P. Follett. The family requests that tributes be made in Mrs. Follett's memory to the COPD Foundation in support of research and education to improve quality of life for individuals suffering COPD.
