Graveside services for Roger Ray Edwards Sr. will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Wayne Ainsworth officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Edwards, age 79, of Meridian, passed away Monday, April 18, 2016 at Jeff Anderson Regional Hospital.

Rod was a veteran of the United States Army, serving as a Special Forces Green Beret. He retired from the GM&O Railroad.

He is survived by his wife, Jerry Ann Edwards; children, Roger Ray Edwards (Rusty) Jr., Mary Ann Edwards Shook, and Patti Edwards; two sisters, Ann Thrasher and Mary Nell Morgan; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Edwards; daughters, Regina Edwards Ladd and Faye Edwards Heitman; grandchildren, Infant Joey Horn and Thelia Heitman; and brothers, Bonner Edwards and Jim Edwards.

Pallbearers will be Rush Edwards, Ray Crane, Jerrod Edwards, Waylon (Snug) Temple, Kent Joyner, and Jerry Jordan.
