Roger A. Shelby Services for Roger A. Shelby will be held Saturday, June 8, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Davey Wilkinson and Reverend Gary Howse officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Shelby, 60, of Dalewood died Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Palm Beach Shores, Florida. He was employed with Clearspan for seventeen years, worked with Custom Sheeting in Livingston, Alabama for twenty-four years, co-owner of Shelby Brothers De-Construction Services. Mr. Shelby coached softball for his daughters and granddaughters. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and a friend to all. Roger was dearly loved by all. He was baptized at Long Creek Baptist Church and attended Lauderdale United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of thirty-nine years, Pamela Shelby of Dalewood; daughter, Christina Shelby Brown and husband Othell Brown, Jr. of the Meehan Community; son, James Roger Shelby and wife Angela Cook Shelby of the Meehan Community; daughter Melissa Shelby Carney and husband Jay Justice Carney of Toomsuba; daughter Lauren Ashley Simmons and husband Dusty Simmons of Dalewood; grandchildren Kristin Shelby, Gabe Shelby, Dontae Shelby, Ricquel Shelby, Tianna Shelby, Elijah Brown, Isaiah Brown, Michael Cook, Michelle Cook, Kayla Shelby, Kaleb "Junior" Shelby, Jay Carney Jr. and wife Laura Storey Carney, Tiffinie Carney, Tre' Carney, Hannah Carney, Jacup Alvin Carney, Chasity Simmons, Carter "Simmons Wrecker", Caitlyn Simmons, great-granddaughter, Phoenix Rayne Carney; brothers, Joe Lee Shelby, Ricky Shelby and wife Cindy Shelby, Charles David Shelby; sisters, Eva Embrey and husband Jim Embrey, Liz Parker and husband Sonny Parker, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Octavia Brown, brother, John Shelby, sisters, Dot Ward and Mary Ward; parents, Shade Lee and Earline Shelby. Pallbearers will be William Joiner, Jeremy Bunyard, David Lee Mitchell, Jay Thomson, Tony Ward, Jason Shelby, Dontae Shelby and Gabe Shelby.
