Ronald Allen Duett

A funeral service for Mr. Ronald Allen Duett will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Rev. Mac Barnes officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Ronald Allen Duett, age 61, of Meridian, MS passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 15.

Ronald was born November 25, 1963 in Meridian, MS. He attended Meridian public schools and graduated in 1985 with a special education diploma. He was an enthusiastic supporter of Meridian High and Mississippi State University athletics. Ron also enjoyed cheering on his brothers at their sporting events - unless their team played against Meridian!

Ron worked for many years at the Mississippi Institute for the Deaf and Disabled. He loved listening to southern gospel music and enjoyed attending countless gospel concerts with his family. Ron was proud of having traveled to forty-six states including Alaska, four provinces of Canada, and the Yukon. While travelling in Alaska, Ron was able to visit “The North Pole” and tour the home of Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus.

Ronald is survived by his mother, Carolyn Inez McMullen Duett; his brothers, John Tommye "Timmy" Duett, Jr. (Patti Smith Duett) and Rusty Adams; his nieces and nephews, Chelsea Duett Barber (Austin), Brandon Adams, and Jonah Adams; and his great-nephews, John Austin Barber and Hagan Barber.

Mr. Duett was preceded in death by his father, John Tommye Duett; and his grandparents, Pressley and Ruth McMullen, Edgar and Irene Duett.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 11:15 a.m. prior to the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests sharing memorial contributions with the Special Olympics.
