Ronald Lamar "Buddy" Gibson

Funeral Services for Mr. Ronald Lamar "Buddy" Gibson will be held Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at 11:30 AM at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Bob Null and Pastor Clarence Tighlman officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Springs Southern Methodist Church Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Ronald Lamar "Buddy" Gibson, age 78, of Meridian passed away Friday, June 9, 2023, at Ochsner Rush Medical Center surrounded by his family.

Buddy was a devoted husband and father. Buddy was a gentleman and was loved by all who knew him. His fun loving nature was seen in how he greeted his wife's beauty salon clients at Kutter's Korner. He also tirelessly manicured the lawn of his home and his wife's beauty salon.

Buddy served in the U.S. army from 1965-1971. After his military service he went back to work in the steel industry. Later in his life he went to work as a dispatcher for McElroy Truck Lines where he retired.

He was a faithful member of Cornerstone Church of God for many years and then more recently a member of First Assembly of Meridian.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pat Gibson, his son Joshua Gibson (Amy), his daughter Heather Gibson Varner, his grandson Skyler Gibson Burt, his sister Barbara Reece, his sister Debbie Sanders of Houston, TX, his brother Danny Gibson (Sherry) of Houston, TX, Doris Gipson, and his beloved dog Snow, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Buck and Louise Gibson, his brother John Wesley Gibson, and nephew Stevie McDaniel.

Memorials may be made to First Assembly of Meridian in lieu of flowers.

Pallbearers will be Keith Gipson, Scott Gipson, Chris Gipson, Alan McDaniel, Charlie Reed, Tim McDaniel, and Rick Pounders. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul McMullen, Mark Gipson and Pastor Jimmy Reed.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM on Tuesday June 13, 2023, at the funeral home.
