Memorial services for Mr. Ronald Petty will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Ronald Lewis Petty was born on May 5, 1955, and went home to Heaven on July 5, 2024. "Ron" at one time was a Methodist Protestant Youth Minister. He was a Fire Chief for Rose Hill Volunteer Fire Department. He was a Volunteer Sheriff's Officer in Clarke County. He loved hunting and fishing. He was always up for spending time with family and friends.
Ron went to West Lauderdale High School. Ron worked at Goodyear on 22nd Ave, Owen's Corning, Swaco Box Factory in Meridian, and the Mississippi Correctional Facility in Meehan.
Ron is survived by his brother, Richard L. Petty; sister-in-law, Regina Petty; nieces, Alise C. Davis (Scott) and Anne M. Vinlander (Vinai); nephew, John E. Petty (Elizabeth). Ron is also survived by several great nieces and nephews, Lindsey J. Davis, Caroline K. Davis, Andrew E. Davis, Nathaniel E. Petty, Jasmine E. Vinlander, and James V. Vinlander.
Ron was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Albert Petty and Nona Pollock Petty; maternal grandparents, Clyde Lewis and Pearl Moulds Lewis; his parents, Albert Edward Petty and Mary Katherine Lewis Petty; brother, James Edward Petty and sister-in-law, Elsie C. "Dixie" Wiggins Petty.

In Lieu of flowers, Ron's family requests that donations be made to The Room in the Inn, Memphis, TN (where Alise works) ritimemphis.org or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Ronald Petty's name.
