Rosa Jeanette Smith Services for Rosa Jeanette Smith will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Dan Lanier and Dr. Malcolm Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Smith, 79, of Meridian, died Friday, August 30, 2013, at Bedford Care. She was a member of Northcrest Baptist Church and worked in the Dalewood office for years and Oakland Heights Cafeteria. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife and mother. Survivors include her husband, Thomas E. Smith of Meridian, son, Larry Gilbert and wife Gail of Ridgeland; daughter, Kathy Chalfant of Brandon; son, John Gregory Gilbert and wife Pat of Dalewood; step-children, Eric Smith, Kathy Webb, Bonnie Manthey and Cheryl Chatham; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; brother, Donny McLelland and wife Annette of Hattiesburg; sisters, Peggy Storey and husband Robert of Birmingham, Alabama, Mary Ann Jenkins of Meridian and Lillian Edith Gebhardt of Virginia and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Phillips and parents, Theodore and Ida Mae McLelland. Family and friends may sign the online guest book at robertbarhamffh.com.
