Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Mrs. Brogan, 94, of Meridian, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Bedford Care Center of Marion.
Mrs. Brogan was a member of Cathedral assembly of God Church in Meridian and believed in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who left the workforce when it became obvious to her that she needed to be at home for her grandkids and great grandkids as a babysitter and caretaker when needed. I am certain these kids remember her waiting for them to get off the school bus, where she would always have snacks ready for them and take care of them when they were sick so their parents could work.
Survivors include her son, Billy Thomas “Tommy” Brogan, Sr. (Gayle) and Jackie Stephen Brogan (Linda). Grandchildren, Tommy Brogan, Jr., Kyle Brogan, Steve Brogan (Becky), Robin Bennett (Jim), and Patrick Brogan (Ashley). Great-grandchildren, Amy Lee Brogan, Jacob Brogan, Elizabeth Brogan, Gavin Brogan, Jason Brogan, James David Brogan, Christian Brogan, Madison Bennett, Lauren Brogan, Rileigh Hope Brogan, and Jessie Talley. Sister, Carolyn Keyes (Lavard) as well as host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Mrs. Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, John and Daisy Crane; husband, Billy D. Brogan; son, John Douglas Brogan; grandson, Johnny Talley; sister, Jeanette Embry; brothers, Jack “Buddy” Crane and Charles David Crane.
The family suggest memorials be made as donations to The Gideons International in lieu of flowers.
Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
Much appreciation to the staff of Bedford Care Center, especially the nurses and aids at the Dogwood Nursing Station, who were so kind and professional, always treating our loved one with dignity and respect. Also, sincere appreciation to Compassus Hospice Care for their care and support.
