Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Anna Smith will be held Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 11:00 AM at DeKalb Baptist Church, with Bro. James Ruffin and Dr. Scott Harrell officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Crest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 10:45 AM at the church prior to services. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Rose Anna Smith, age 91, of Dekalb, MS passed away Sunday, September 13, 2026.
She spent a lifetime teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and GA's. Rose used her vocal talent to bless others in the church choir and sang solos in her church and other churches throughout the area. She was a lifelong member of WMU and also volunteered countless hours at the Kemper Baptist Association Food Pantry, even serving as Director while her health permitted.
Rose also loved being a member of the Homemaker's Club of DeKalb.
Her hobbies included, crafting, cooking, gardening, and she was the best fisherman on the beach.
She is survived by her children, Laurie McArthur (Gene) and Dennis Wesley (Lynn), grandchildren; Tina Nelson (CJ), Robert McArthur (Laura), Alicia Wesley, Rebecca Wesley, Marissa Wesley, Meghan Powell, great-grandchildren; Nathan Shelton, Tommy Clark (Jayia), Bryce Blalock, Braylee James (Riley), Sam Shelton (Kelby), Madi McArthur, Xander McArthur, Sawyer Nelson, Emily McArthur, Dawson McArthur, and Ember McArthur, 4 great-great-grandchildren, sister, Joyce Clarkson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Glen Smith, son, Gregory Lee Wesley, parents, Dave and Jennie Dennis, brothers, Jack Dennis and Dave Dennis,
Pallbearers will be, Joe VanDevender, Mark Robertson, Jerry Pace, Sylvester Alexander, Billy Holloway, and Jack Harrison.
