Roy Elzy Chatham, Jr.

Graveside services for Mr. Roy Elzy Chatham, Jr. will begin at 1:30 PM Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in House, MS with Reverend Davey Wilkinson officiating. Interment will follow graveside rites. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Chatham, 75, of Meridian, died Friday, December 1, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

Roy was a Veteran of the MS Air National Guard where he served over 39 years retiring as a SR Master Seargent. Mr. Roy worked for Lockheed Martin where he retired after 36 years. He was a Master Mason for 50 years as a member of the E. J. Knox King Solomon #130 Lodge. Mr. Chatham was a mentor to many young men and prided himself in sharing his love for Christ throughout his life.

Mr. Roy is survived by his children Rodney Chatham and Christy Chatham. Grandchildren, Jacob, Devon, Gracie, Caroline, and Liam; and one great-granddaughter, Maeve. His sister, Cheryl Chatham; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.

Mr. Chatham is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Glenda Chatham; his parents, Roy and Norma Claire Chatham; and his brother, Larry Chatham.

The Chatham family suggests memorials be made as donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in lieu of flowers.
