Roy James Jacobs

Funeral services for Roy Jacobs will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Clarke County with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Jacobs, age 86, of Meridian, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi.

Roy was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired after 30 years in the grocery business. He attended First Baptist Church of Collinsville.

Survivors include; son, Charles Jacobs (Maria); daughter, Ima Sue Palmer (Richard); grandchildren, Josh Jacobs (Shelley), Lindsay Broome (Joseph), Matt Jacobs (Ashley), Joel Jacobs, Heather Little (Cody), Lauren Jacobs and Daniel Palmer; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Barbara Thomas; half-sister, Vickie Stewart; half-brother, Ronnie Hatcher; best friend, Mary Munn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Jean Jacobs; sons, Walter Jacobs and James Jacobs; parents, and 2 brothers.
