Ruby Catherine Chisolm New Graveside service for Ruby Catherine Chisolm New will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at 11:30 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery, with Reverend Jimmy Harrison officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. New, 101, died Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Poplar Springs Nursing Center. She was a lifelong resident of Meridian. Mrs. New was born December 29, 1910, to William Edwin Chisolm and Sara Jane Downey Chisolm. She is survived by her daughter Gayle Gray and her husband Bill; granddaughters Tara and Carla Gray, Dana Hoyle and Rosemary Stephens and her husband Brian; grandson Bailey Stephens and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe New and her son Joey New; her parents William Edwin Chisolm and Sara Jane Downey Chisolm ; her sisters Edwina Rhodes and Dorothy and Bonnie Jean Chisolm. The family requests memorial be made to Poplar Springs Nursing Center, Aldersgate Retirement Center or a charity of choice.
